People don’t want to be exploited. 99% of the reason employers can’t fill slots boil down to the following: Pay does not match the job description, requirements or work conditionsOnly available positions are part time, therefore no federally guaranteed benefits like healthcare, maternity leave, etc.The culture is toxic. Solve those problems and you won’t have difficulty finding work. I’m beginning to hate capitalism more and more and I feel dirty saying this. I’m almost 30, only during the pandemic have I had a break longer than a month total since I graduated from high school. That’s wrong.

@cyberanathema @basadeskaiser One job I took a while back was literally my coworkers coming up with coping mechanisms for being paid under $15 an hour and forced to do lots of heavy work for 9-10 hour workdays that oftentimes stretched longer. Those same employees laughed at me for being the only one to actually wear PPE on the job when nobody else in that field seemed to give a shit about their body lasting long at all.I was fired from the job for not being able to work fast enough as my body physically kept giving out during a shift. Sure boomers tell you that you can tell the boss to give you accommodations, but in reality the boss uses that as a factor to decide that you would be better off flipping burgers. I'm surprised people out there have loyalty to a soulless corporate job that treats you like shit when the job across the street probably pays more, and will end up hiring you anyway when the corporate HQ closes your store down.

The only stores in their system that did not have them were leased buildings because the other chains have push button garage door openers.They had a contract with a specific local car part supplier who constantly fucked them over by giving them the wrong parts, when the competition goes to NAPA/Advance/AutoZone/Federated instead. The district manager was anal about putting the paper mats in the cars, but tended to neglect actual work going on in favor of speed as well. He drove an old 2010 Benz C class or something that had plenty of paint chips and shitty window tint, which is probably the most fitting car for a worthless wagie boss. The funniest day was when someone from the hood brought in their Benz of the same era...and it was in better shape cosmetically and mechanically. He really thought he was hot shit by driving a Benz that everyone in the apartment complex parking lot owns. The manager of the store also made sympathy excuses a lot.Oh yeah. How good was pay? It was pretty shit. It was shit enough to the point where employees would take home scrap tires in "good" shape as a side gig for extra money. If you had a guy who gave a shit about you that day, it was common for them to offer customers their old tires if they were in good shape. By the way, you know those signs that say "we pierce tires"? A lot of times that's fake and gay, not only do they never pierce tires most of the time but they even tend to have problems with overflowing stock. I'm sure if you drove up to them pretending to be the tire truck, you could steal shitloads of tires or something and they wouldn't care less because they just want the overflowing pile to go away.

All operations were halted, only basic services were not stopped like utilities, food, etc.Still workers didn't care too much about their health and the companies had their boomer programs to watch over OSHA compliance education and that boomer HR shit.

Sure they're unsafe especially on clapped out hood chariots, but who gives a shit when you have no money and your shitbox broke again.Lots of hood chariots had plenty of telltale signs of used tires and crap, and as I was working when the stimmy checks came in I got to see them up front. There would be 4 old ass tires of different brands, there was a car with severe rod knock getting new tires, there would be 4 mismatched tire sizes (for example a 205/60r17 on one wheel, a 205/65r17 on another, a 215/65r17 on yet another, you get the idea), but my favorite was a Pontiac G6 or similar GM shitbox of the era that had 3 17 inch wheels and a 16 inch wheel or something like that. We straight up refused to change the tires on that thing until we got a junkyard rim first.

The R number is the most important because it's the rim size.So this shitbox hood chariot came in with one wheel smaller than the rest, and a larger tire to compensate. That right there is risky for a ton of reasons, namely one wheel is moving at a higher speed than the other side. You can have tires of different sizes as long as both of the ones on the axle are the same size (staggered).You'll know you have it wrong if the tire refuses to mount on the rim because of force, or the tire falls through the rim. There were too many times in which the idiots in the front counter sold tires for a 17 inch rim instead of a 16 inch rim, or vice versa. They didn't look at the car, they just keyed in the car and the customer said "Idunno it needs new tires" when asked about the trim level.
