@person Sick list \m/ Streets of Rage 2 is the first game I ever beat in one go, and still is one of my favorite belt scrollers to this day; Ninja Gaiden II is easily a top ten game for me; I don't even play first person shooters, but I did have fun playing DOOM and BLOOD back in the day.

@mohab Streets of Rage 2 is incredible, best of the original trilogy. However Streets of Rage 4 is the real deal! Beat'em up, perfected! I don't like Ninja Gaiden II as much as others though, stage hazards feel pretty cheap.

@mohab I urge you to try Journey to Silius! It's one of the most criminally overlooked games in NES library, it also has a cool history :)

@likho Hey, I main Eddie (Or I, at least, try, haha). Who do you main? It's pretty cool you write #GuiltyGear fanfic—keep that up. I hope we get an #FGC instance one day, or any legitimate presence on the Fediverse.

@mohab I play around with Baiken and Robo-Ky.I'm certain there's a significant amount of people who play fighting games on the fediverse. But the fediverse is terribly fragmented, so a lot of content on other instances don't show up on timelines. So I boost when I can.

@likho Nice. I can do relatively well against AI Robo-Ky, but Baiken is a pain to deal with—I've been wanting to study this match up for sometime.I've been playing the game intermittently for well over a year, but I haven't jumped into online lobbies yet. Do you play on Steam?I'll keep an eye on your toots/boosts for any FGC-related things, and, hopefully, the Fediverse will get better at connecting us.

@antares Oh, nice. Which would you say has better combat, DMC4, or 5? I loved 4's combat mechanics, but it's a shame the campaign isn't as fun to play through. I find myself jumping in Bloody Palace whenever I boot it up.Interesting list you have there. I really do hope we get more FOSS games over time. Where do you stand on M.U.G.E.N, BTW?

@mohab There are some aspects of DMC4 I like over 5, likewise some aspects of DMC3 I like over 4. I think the flaws of 4 are solvable if there was custom mapping, but being able to modify Dante's weapon chains is great in 5.I'm not familiar with MUGEN. I could tolerate open source software tools because transparency is practical. For games, I prefer FOSS as my patience for copyrighted culture is wearing thin.

@antares DMC4 could've definitely used more time in the oven, for sure. Game had a ton of potential.I hope we get a really good, FOSS FG soon.Hey, how do I find you on Steam? Same handle?
