@fikran I hope it will be, but either way, it sets a healthy new precedent of new #Twitter competitors using #Fediverse software rather than their own janky tech (I'm looking at you #Gab, #Parler, and whichever platform the republicans are using now that has that tiny red logo)

@freemo @stux Also, to be fair, from what I've seen they actually did mod it. They've made more functional modifications than #Brighteon did (although to be fair their fork was mostly for cosmetics, not functionality)

There is also the breach in creative commons laws that will probably keep it in production. I doubt most instances will let it link with theirs. Gab tried to fork mastodon and it left. I think its because it couldn't make money, something truth social is definately trying to do almost certainly in breach of the open source licence.
