Surgery's over, successful. And surprisingly painful.I lurked the Quodmeet earlier, unable to type or formulate a thought. It was an escape.My surgeon did me a "favor", adding some free liposuction to the deal. So flat stomach, but lipo is a notoriously painful recovery. A light cough is enough to make me want to faint, or go into shock.And I don't care. Pain is subsiding, I may go home tomorrow, my wife's a rock solid trooper, and I'm one grateful happy boy.The QV lurk helped. A lot. TY

@LL I was goofy smiling throughout the Quodmeet. Heavily medicated, watching Saul and listening to hearts and minds of people that I love, appreciate, and consider family was quite an experience. Ya bunch of beautiful rocks, you.

@DTPrez Thank you, Deb. I had chicken pho, closest I could get to turkey under the circumstances, but delicious!Lots to be thankful for. Just found out that my surgery and hospital stay would have cost between $7K-$15K in the States. My grand total for everything, all out of pocket, was around $1,900 (after friendly discounts). $50 a night for a stellar private room, bed for wife included.The worst of it's over, the best is yet to come. Always. And thank you again!

@StevenDouglas @DTPrez I had about the same procedure done in 2017.Your estimates for the US are way low considering a number of factors.First I went to the same hospital and surgeon for one I had done in my belly button.The short story is three scenarios all with surgeon, facility fee and gas passer.Do it all with Insurance = $65K with a 6K deduct.Do it there cash = $21.5KPrivate surgical center = $4.2K

@RonOgletree @DTPrez Wow!Something is definitely rotten in the State of Denmark, that massive order of magnitude disparity cannot be explained by relative costs and other economic differences between two countries.My pacemaker replacement here was under $1k. Out of pocket. With insurance: $1.4k. It would have been around $35k-$50k there, regardless of brand.
