@joeligj12 Linux Mint, Manjaro or Solus would all be great starting points. Before anyone chimes in about starting people on rolling releases Manjaro and Solus are more like curated rolling or semi rolling with how they hold back updates for testing.

@joeligj12 Lol, I always recommend Mint to new users. The Cinnamon UI is so close to windows, they can make the transition much easier.

@joeligj12 @MrDers @benjaminpaikjones excellent choice imho. Personally after many years, I am still stuck and happy with LM + Mate 😎

@joeligj12Only browser? Fedora silverblue would be extremely reliable, but installing anything other than flatpacks will be pain.

@joeligj12 this seems like an easy sell lol. If they only use the browser, all you need to do is install a browser for them and bam! done. obviously a little more of a sell than that, but that's what I would do :)

@pyre35 @joeligj12 I would not install Manjaro for a non-technical person who wants things to just work. I've been using it for 2 years and so far twice an update broke something and I had to rollback a timeshift backup.

@joeligj12 why not lynx??? lol. That would actually be really funny if you tried to get them to use lynx. like, "OK, remember those cool pictures and videos you like, graphics, etc? Well, look how much better this is! this is how you browse the web now."
