I've been writing my own inductions, but what I really want to do is improvise them at full speed, and.. I'm getting there, I think. My current mode of practice is to type them out with no editing and doing my best to just *keep typing* to keep the flow going. The inductions I spend hours thinking out and editing and refining are, of course, a lot better, more artistic, more fun, more my voice than falling back to a stereotype of Erickson. But there's "excellent", and then there's "good enough", and excellent isn't actually good enough when it doesn't have speed behind it. Good enough, however, may well be good enough. There's room for both kinds of practice. Right now, I want to get to the point that I'd feel willing to genuinely improvise an induction on someone, and I'm getting close to that point. Later, I'll go back to careful planning and refinement and self-critique, because I want to get quality up as well as speed. But I think I'm hitting a critical threshhold where I can get close to "good enough" at full performance speed, and I want to get there.https://pastebin.com/dqVxmZtw (caution: is a hypnotic induction, may cause spaciness) is my most recent pass at this; this was written in one pass with no editing and *some* pauses, too many pauses, but I was close. I'll get there! (opinions welcome, btw. I want to improve at this.)
