I hate plastic. And nothing is done about. Two years into a pledge to phase out non-recyclable packaging, two thirds of the plastic used by supermarkets is still difficult or impossible to recycle, an investigation by environmental organisation Natuur & Milieu has found.Read more at DutchNews.nl:https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/11/most-supermarket-packaging-is-difficult-or-impossible-to-recycle/

@LadyMont It should’ve been dealt with long ago. Plastics are killing our Earth and Sea. I remember hearing about young man who created a machine of sorts to clean plastic from the ocean.., wonder if his invention has been widely invested in?

@ArtistBristol @Wicche2 @LadyMont There are massive testing requirements for any release of a non native organism to fix a problem...think about the plague of rats after setting them to go after cane toads.Imagine what this bacteria could do to our lives.Even in the ocean for instance life boats are made from plastic and fibreglass, fishing nets are plastic, information cables are wrapped in plastic.Whilst it's TRUE that big business such as oil companies have suppressed the development of clean energies and of course it does happen, the safety issues in releasing a self sustaining organism are huge.

@Babayaga @ArtistBristol @LadyMont OMG the bloody cane toad! what they have done, and are doing to Australia, when they were released in the 70s to go after the cane beetle.... the damage they’ve done to our eco system is enormous coz they’ve hardly any predators coz of their poison, although some birds are learning to turn them over and eat their internals. I think the Aussie bush rat can eat them too, but I might be mistaken.
