The OBS project has accused Streamlabs of copying their name and trademark: #obs #linux #linuxgaming #foss #trademark #infringement #steamlabsQT OBSProject: Near the launch of SLOBS, @streamlabs reached out to us about using the OBS name. We kindly asked them not to. They did so anyway and followed up by filing a trademarkWe’ve tried to sort this out in private and they have been uncooperative at every turnhttps://twitter.com/StuV2/status/1460710778462482440

@boilingsteam The thing is, the GPL is only about sharing the source code. It is a software license, and has nothing to do with the trademarks. The OBS project should attack the SLOBS trademark registration (in the US they have the option to do so), and in the same breath probably register their own as they've been using the logo and name for long.

@nicemicro yeah, source code and branding are two different things, and it's important to register name/logo as a trademark if you intend to protecting your own project.
