@LuvGreenTea2019 I wouldn't be surprised if they got it from Tractor Supply. Before it became a big news item, they'd get the pour-on version to treat their cows (and dogs). Hopefully she didn't give that to him! 😳I just worry about him self-medicating because he's not in great health. 😬

@tangleofsnakes @LuvGreenTea2019 Some doctors prescribe it. Maybe they bought it online, and not as a Dad covid dip from Tractor Supply. What are the side effects?

@tangleofsnakes @LuvGreenTea2019 No No No No ivermectin is for horses and not safe for human consumption. Ivermectin is only used to treat parasitic infections in humans but only in small quantities perscribed by a doctor. Anything else consumption of ivermectin is very dangerous.Oh my God your father needs to stop taking it. https://www.drugs.com/ivermectin.html

@Babayaga @LuvGreenTea2019 @tangleofsnakes In some countries, it is the frontline treatment for parasites. Not sure if there is an alternative, or if this is cheap enough and easy to distribute in difficult environments.

@tangleofsnakes @LuvGreenTea2019 When I boarded my horse I had to worm him regularly. But when I brought him home I started having his feces checked for worms (NONE!) so I didn't have to give him ivermectin or anything else. I give my dogs invermectin July-October because they both had heartworm (rescued in Memphis); it is relatively benign but I would never take a wormer unless it was found that I had worms. I actually don't know what doctors prescribe for internal worms. Ivermectin is a wormer not an antibiotic or antiviral. I do take iodine daily which is an antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal, etc, that is Lugol's solution not topical iodine.
