A QUESTION from Koen 🐦:99.9% of the 65-74 US population are vaccinated?AstonishingWhen can you get 99.9% of the population to agree on the same thing?Let alone all *do* the same thingWay more than 1 in 1,000 people are anti-vax, or eg have major depressionBut they all went out & got vaxxed? ONE ANSWER from Stephen McEntyre 🐦:Speaking as someone in this agegroup. In the 1950s, polio cripples were still alive as reminder of its ravages.1/2

Memories of devastation of typhus, smallpox etc still fresh. So yes, our age group are very pro-vax. Today's anti-vaxxers are too young to have seen polio victim. Also the calculus is different: risk of COVID disease is very serious for people in our age group, while issue of long-term side effects is irrelevant since additional life expectancy is relatively short compared to someone 40 years younger.2/2

@SusanInVA I know it is fake. When we and other government contractor companies are all losing around 40% of their workforce . . .Most of those in our company are retired military ad they are the largest group calling it quits.AGAIN; not for any fear of being jabbed but because they will not be mandated to.

@RonOgletree Thank you, sir. Surprised that guy Stephen who replied got fooled. He is pretty sharp, to say the least. If I get time today I'll search mayo and find the actual chart (if one even exists) see if there is actually a matching graph and what it was created for, and post corrected one.

@SusanInVA Even the graph matters not so much as the methodology of their data and how big and where the data set was derived. Was it derived in a nursing home in Rochester?

@SusanInVA Even the graph matters not so much as the methodology of their data and how big and where the data set was derived. Was it derived in a nursing home in Rochester?I just don't believe anything enough to put my name to anything of what I know not the entire picture.I would have hoped many of us here have learned that lesson all too well.

@RonOgletree I sincerely hope you understand that I do my best to put my name only to posts what I can clearly see as true. It looked valid and I tried to quickly explain my surprise and why I added it was legitimate. My skepticism is noted as well. Instead of deleting, I also posted an addendum to the graph will make me go find out more specifics about this at some point this weekend.

@RonOgletree I got the message...and will be more careful to put my name to anything of what I know not the entire picture, since many here have already learned that lesson all too well.

@SusanInVA Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to reading more of this. Also, the latest insanity: Trying to "detoxx" after getting vaccinated by taking a bath in Borax. Did you hear about this one?

@SusanInVA So true, I had an aunt who had dual crutches from having polio. And when I was in grade school we all took the polio vaccine orally. (Not to mention Smallpox, and other vaccines.) yep, we think nothing of getting vaccinated.

@SusanInVA Another possible reason: we all lived with vaccine mandates. It wasn't optional. The same idiots opposite vaccines today were there yesterday. But the adults were in charge.

@SusanInVA They also tend to believe that the media and US government have their best interests at heart and wouldn't brazenly lie to them. 🙃
