@stux if you live in an apartment with other people check if other people are not accidentally running a dryer/central heating on your net. Kill-a-wats are also very useful and help with calculations so you know exactly what you use and what sort of surplus you're looking for.

@fnord Thanks! I live with my gf :ablobwink: we’re keeping a real close eye on that to keep most things off etc but somehow it turned the costs around the other way :amaze:

So freaking weird! Past year we also got a huge extra bill that we paid over time and we went back to the "normal" price of €95 per month, after that it was two months €35 (we and they dont know why lol) and now the system has put it back to €139 per month (precaution for next year) plus the 1300 or so we need to pay within 9 months...Soo, somehow we tripled our energy costs while we saved our asses off.. :thinktink: We're now stuck with a min of €268 for energy per month derp It's time for a new energy "supplier" ASAP, this doesn't make any sense anymore wtf 🇳🇱

@stux @fnord Here in the UK, energy suppliers tend to overshoot and undershoot, charging you far too little and then far too much.First thing to do is to keep a spreadsheet of monthly meter readings, so that you know what you're actually using. If electricity readings are unexpectedly high, get a cheap energy measurement plug. It can tell you how many watts a device is using now and how many kWh it uses over a day or a week.Fridges and freezers are heavy users because they're always on.
