It seems that the FOSS world needs replacements for x86/ARM, Linux/*BSD, Xorg/Wayland, etc.We are left with RISC-V computers running plan9.

@picamanic There is OpenPOWER. Raptor Computing Systems sells desktop machines running those, Talos II is damn powerful and compeletely open source. Blackbird is more on the desktop side (still quite powerful), it's not fully open but still a great step in the right direction.

@picamanic Yeah, mine too. But they do exist, it's progress! Maybe you can use legacy x86 systems, most likely not though.

@person I use legacy x86 systems every day! Mostly 5-10 years old. Before then, the computers were very hot, noisy, heavy; they it in the junk room.

@picamanic That is pretty cool :) A Thinkpad T400 and that prebuilt desktop from Vikings would do than (even though Vikings isn't selling stuff st the moment).
