       @gear when the act itself is virtuous, I don't think the aesthetics matter. Even if NNN is a fashionable meme for young men to bandy about, the fact that a mass movement of self betterment has reached cultural meme status is good unto itself. Any steps to help young men to step out of the haze of pleasure addiction is a win. NNN is a net positive.

       @gear pornography is actively promoted by mainstream culture and though leaders. That is impossible to combat without discussing the issue publicly. Abstinence had never even come to mind to me (and im sure many others) before hearing about NNN years ago. So, I don't care if it's "cringe" or seen as empty bragging. Good things are good, they remain good even if a certain portion of good thing promotors are cringe or hypocrites.
