#honk update:I'm liking it so far; for a little self-hosted single-person fediverse instance, it has a lot going for it. It uses virtually nothing in terms of resources. I like that it can easily be themed by modifying the style.css and the templates, and the lack of notifications or being able to see your followers sort of takes the edge off. The ability to use 90% of the functionality without Javascript is cool too.

@nilix @tedu The only things I'm sort of stumped about are that adding hashtag collections as honkers and setting my avatar using the funzone doesn't seem to work. Any tips?

@nilix okay.for hashtags, add a honker with a url like #honk, just the hashtag, then assign to a combo. any post with that tag should then show up.for avatar, you put the image file in the memes directory, then avatar: filename.png goes on a line by itself at the end of about me.

@tedu Thanks, I suppose in retrospect the documentation was perfect, but I had thought I should have been using the url for a hashtag collection on another instance for whatever reason :)That's what I was doing for the avatar biz, but it didn't seem to work. At the very least I have hidden avatars with my style.css for now.And thank you for making such an enlightened fedi server!

@nilix you can subscribe to a hashtag collection on another instance, but I'm pretty sure honk is the only implementation that supports it (on the remote end, or either end actually), so it's kinda pointless at the moment.

@nilix @tedu For memes and avatars I had to place a copy of the meme directory in both honkdata and the root folder where the honk executable is. Memes wouldn't show up until they were copied in both places.

@dave oh, that's a bug! Should be data directory, but there's a prefix missing in the code somewhere.
