These stadia were compaigns slogan for the current government where they promised each county will be having one international stadium, that's is 47 international stadia. In 2017, Kenya failed to host CHAN, African Cup of Nations football tournament due to lack of enough stadia, and those that existed are of substandard state, of which Rwanda hosted the same tournament in 2014.

@JonathanMBR This sport is so broken. There is always the narrative that you only need a bag, a jacket, and a ball to play football. On the other hand FIFA and DFB always say that stadiums are not level enough or whatever. The professionals should be able to play on a sub standard pitch as well. The amateurs do that every week and have a lot of fun.
