Is there a way to "hack" the Chromecast and install an AdBlocker or something for YouTube? I paid Google already for the hardware, why also put it full with spam 😠 :google::no:

@stux I know thats possible with a Amazon Fire Stick and Blokada but for a Chromecast I don't know.Maybe you could try DNS based blocking via AdGuard or PiHole or something.

@Mixtape @stux what are the use cases for a chromecast?Probably just Playing a video you want- play a video from your phone on the TV- Browse YouTube / Netflix from the Phone and Play the Video on your TV?

@eqreneiuo @Mixtape Yups! Mostly I used it with JellyFin but that doesnt work anymore.. :( Now it's just casting YT videos so my Mac won't slow down from casting the whole tab :blobcatgiggle:

@stuxYou could go in the easier way: block ads on the router. Check ad blocking solutions for routers.Like Pi-hole or similar.
