@MandyJane @BoredasfSam00 @meogsis I don't know what a Cuban sandwich even is but it seems to be trendy af right now. That's just a Turkish bread roll with grandmother ham, sundried tomato and provolone. And I've been eating sandwiches like this for years.

There's even a Tampa vs Miami rivalry. lolThere's a bakery in Ybor City that makes the best Cuban bread, it's so chewy it makes your teeth sore. The best Cubans are made with this bread, imo. https://www.lasegundabakery.com/Some people think the best sandwiches are in fancy restaurants, but I like the ones made in little convenience stores and gas stations. They've got ham, roasted pork, salami, dill pickle, swiss cheese, and mustard. Then they put garlic butter on the outside, and press them.

@MandyJane @BoredasfSam00 @meogsis Ah. Do keep in mind I’m in Australia which is a fair way away from Florida. And in the last year or so, Cuban sandwiches seem to be talked about everywhere. There are places here that do them and I think I passed one in Prahran the other day. I might just try one to see what the big deal is. There’s a bakery in Ybor City that makes the best Cuban bread, it’s so chewy it makes your teeth soreI’m looking at Cuban bread right now and from your description… it just sounds like ciabatta. Ciabatta sandwiches cooked in a panini press is something we’ve had here in Melbourne for a while. Still… I’ll keep an open mind and I might try one out today.But I recommend Turkish bread. It’s got a similar chewy quality but… the crust isn’t hard when heated. It’s the perfect crispness for me.

@meogsis I’ve only ever encountered provolone in the Costco turkey and provolone sandwich. I miss that sandwich. The chicken and bacon bake is a poor replacement. @MandyJane
