Never watched the Star Wars saga as a child and was forced by friends to watch Episode III back when it came out in 2006 or so. Terrible episode to be introduced to Star Wars. Anyway, I found it too nerdy even for me and was again forced by friends to watch at least Episodes IV–VI ten years later in early 2016 when the new films came out, so I can decide whether I’d join them to go see the new ones. So, Episode IV was somewhat neat (good soundtrack), but a bit lame and Episode V was indeed comfy – and that’s where I saw the appeal. Then, we watched Episode VI and when Leila was made a sex slave to Jabba the Hut, I just went “Okay, screw this nonsense, this is just pathetic.” and I gave up on the film. Independently of this, I thought this episode was just boring and ridiculous in too many ways. After this, I decided to not go see the new film because I sensed it might be worse – just because sequels tend to be bad, but also due to some vague intuition that it may be pozzed (without having the notion of things being “pozzed” back then – didn’t know about clown world yet), which of course turned out to be completely right.
