@chjara Put it this way, the Y chromosome in humans has been getting smaller over millions of years. Eventually only X chromosomes will be left, if we live that long.

@thatbrickster @chjara At which point we will simply switch to a different mechanism for sex determination. Many species have done it. The Y chromosome is nothing but the activation signal for the male body plan which is strewn throughout the rest of the genome.
