       Adjusting for inflation, #Bitcoin today is at ~$12k pre-pandemic dollars.So we're not actually at a new high yet.I guess we need to break $100k for a real new high.

       @lukedashjr While our spending power is protected, #Bitcoin is also a gage of fiat inflation so some percentage of the recent gains are simply a reaction to money printing.

       @duringo Total US dollars in existence before/after.IIRC it was ~$5T before, now $20T, so 4x.(Which means the new high would actually be breaking $80k - so maybe I'm mis-remembering?)

       @duringo Those are just inevitable after-effects following inflation.It's funny how fiat fans try to use this redefinition attempt as propaganda: by doing so, they are implicitly admitting the effects are intrinsically tied to real inflation.

       @lukedashjr i absolutely agree, but this is the line of thinking for economists nowadays. How can they not realize that, ideally, inflation should be 0%, especially by their own definition.
