Switched to managing my home configuration with #Guix Home last week, and I am quite happy with it:https://guix.gnu.org/manual/devel/en/html_node/Home-Configuration.htmlGuix Home is a tool for declarative management of home configuration, in a way which is very similar to how the system configuration is managed. It is the Guix equivalent of Nix's Home Manager. It was initially part of https://sr.ht/~abcdw/rde/ , but it is now part of Guix main.

Re-(re)-wrapping my head about #Shepherd vs. Guix services did take some more time, but I now think I clearly understand the difference between the two meanings of "service" in the Guix context, and I think I start really getting how to declare Shepherd services in Guix configurations! Happy 😇

@scolobb Mind sharing your config? On nix I used home-manager quite a bit and somehow I am a bit lost with Guix Home on what I can configure there and how a more complex home environment can look like (than the one that is in the docs)

@holger Sure, here you go: https://dpaste.org/XLStNot much more complex than the example config, but fits me. I stripped some private-ish strings, but the whole thing should still build fine. From what I’ve seen, the repo from which Guix Home was included into Guix provided more configuration fields, similar to what Nix Home Manager has: SSH, Git, etc. However, two weeks ago the version in Guix didn’t offer these fields, so I just went with plain-file for now. Guix Home is updated often though, so you should probably check what new configuration options have been added since then.Feel free to ask if something is unclear in my configuration.
