       † idk why people are so persistent in saying that poor people should be able to have kids. no, they really shouldn't, and i say this as someone who grew up in poverty. it caused so much harm to us from bodily development to mental health and anxiety over money. since birth, we spent most of our childhood worrying about what we'll eat, begging people to spare us some money or food for our family whenever we couldn't afford it, stealing from stores, and having to go out in the big city we lived in to buy groceries. and 90% of the time we were ofc not safe and have been in countless dangerous situations. it wasn't fucking fun. it made us deeply resentful of the body's mom, who already had 4 kids before us, but for some reason thought she could provide for all of them. so i truly don't understand why any being in their right mind would want to have their kid go through something as traumatic as that, and i'm never the type to control other people's decisions either. just this one really fucking bothers me bc there's no logic around it. if you can't feed your kid everyday let alone not be able to buy them a toothbrush, you should not have a kid until you figure that shit out. it's really not that fucking hard. i saw a tweet that said people who think poor people shouldn't have kids are a red flag and it pissed me off sm bc these people clearly have never lived in a developing country that dehumanizes women and other marginalized groups alike and is highly classist along with racist. i'm fucking sick of westerners that don't know anything but act like they do. just wanted to get this off of my chest ig. i always see this claim and it's so annoying and ignorant.
