https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBOcCWimdFUI love my #PinePhone. Maybe the #Pine64 community can chirp in on this? I have inferred this guy does not understand Linux too well...or even what he purchased. #JAM8

@jackanapesm8@fosstodon.org @polychrome@cybre.space I admit, I love the concept of the PinePhone, but haven't been able to justify buying what's pretty obviously (and they're honest about it) an unfinished prototype device as anything more than a laugh. Maybe someday they'll be "daily driver" ready for average people. I probably would have rolled the dice on it a few years back haha

@jackanapesm8 @wolfie while I can't say I'd use it as a daily driver I am very interested in getting it as a mobile Linux terminal once the keyboard becomes available.A pocket sized Linux machine that I can actually use as a computer and sorta kinda double as a phone? Count me in.

@jackanapesm8 No offense to guy, but I don't think he appreciates the power of a full Linux device in his pocket gives him w/an optionally active modem (ex: qualcomm modems have been a problem & GPS still active on android devices in airplane mode.Frustrated that it isn't Android. that's my take. Or maybe he is trolling for Pine64's attention as he seems to be complaining about not getting responses fast enough as he 'brags' about his many clients. No one said Pinephone was for everyone.

@jackanapesm8 And by that I mean a major #Pinephone advantage: hardware switch for optional modem, more open firmware available (Biktorgj), and customization of network routing options and privacy setups w/access to FOSS Linux options are something non-linux phones can only dream of at this time.
