       Random thoughts:I overall favor #freemarket #capitalism But I'm not entirely against a poverty-level UBI. If a future Einstein could subsist on beans and discover the next great theory by gazing out the window of a studio apartment, would society benefit? I think so. Maybe require a basic intelligence test to access the money, like a scholarship for independent study. Could it work?Some innovations require very little investment, but lots of time, like open source software, fine art.

       Without a UBI, seems like people find a way. Einstein found a boring clerk job. I think an Einstein of today might work for the government, or a parking garage? I once met some guys at my alma mater, hanging around every day in the plaza, doing nothing, making jokes. I asked, how are you supporting yourself? Apparently they faked some kind of mental illness and got disability money! WTF

       @TechnoAnarchist I'm not a heartless Libertarian LOL. I'm thinking people with serious mental disabilities already get a nice monthly check. Social security should pay better. I'm undecided on a UBI. We already have tons of handouts available, so maybe it's not necessary.

       @TechnoAnarchist I spent a lot of time on the streets because I like to walk, and I was young, stupid and fearless, and had time because I automated my shit with Perl. One homeless guy told me, I don't need food. Then he named three churches within walking distance where he could get as much food as he wanted. And it's true. Churches do a great job. I trust church volunteers 100x more than the gov. People should find a good charity that tracks who needs what, otherwise the money is wasted.

       @TechnoAnarchist I was a sad looking bum with a long beard, fit right in with the other bums. You never know why someone sleeps outdoors, maybe they hate air conditioning. I even met nice self-proclaimed "anarchists" in my neighborhood (they believed people could self-regulate, which sounds like Libertarianism to me.) Anyway, some of them were good poets. I was into poetry back then. That's how I ended up hanging around liberals. Whole town was like that, college town, loved Clinton, hated Bush.
