With my friend Alex.In 1978-79, he used to smuggle food to my cell, at his own risk. A few slices of baloney, here and there, that made all the difference.It seems like yesterday though, as he says, I'm not nearly as skinny as I was then.

Alex was telling his girlfriend how "we were outside when they let him out. Looked like a ghost and could not walk. We had to pick him up and help him until he got his bearings."I had no recollection of that.

@68sawtooth @EarlThePearls @Debradelai Years ago (actually, decades ago!) while dining at the Union Square Cafe in NYC I got into a conversation with the table next to me, turned out the fella there was Ed Koch's chef so I asked him what Mayor Koch's favorite meal was and he said, " The mayor loves a fatty brisket" - I always remember that when someone mentions brisket. It sounds so good!My husband-to-be bought our waiters tie that night, lol.
