@rarity Our vet did do blood work on her when she first got sick and I'm sure he checked for that. I'm sure they’ll check again tomorrow when they do other neurological tests.

@umad80 It’s the first thing one thinks of in CT when a dog has a fever and/or neuro signs. Delaware also has a lot of Lyme cases.I hope she’s better very soon!

So another update. She’s about the same but they did some blood work and her white blood cells are high. They talked with the neurologist and they're starting some medication for her. I should know more tomorrow.

So, they do suspect an infection, but they aren't entirely sure what's going on. When she sneezes she has some blood in her mucus. So she's going to get an MRI so they can figure out what's going on.Thank you all for your continued prayers for Ginger.

Just spoke with someone at the vet and they think she has meningitis. He did say that she is getting some of her energy back, but she's also still kind of tired.We will know more in the morning.Thank you all again for your continued prayers and please keep praying that this is what it is!

Latest Ginger update: As I said, they believe it is meningitis. They did an MRI and a spinal tap to see what the underlying cause might be. They’ll be keeping her for a few days to see if she responds well to treatment. They said if it is autoimmune it's something she could keep having for the rest of her life.Please keep praying for her recovery and that if it is autoimmune she doesn't keep having issues. Much appreciated and I love all my fellow Quods! You guys are the best. ❤️

@umad80 I assume Ginger is a dog? I would never have figured they get meningitis. I had meningitis when I was about 8 months old. My mother said I had enough medication for 8 babies. Survived it but left some hearing loss in one ear.Prayers for Ginger.

Finally talked with the vet. The bloody mucus is just sinusitis or rhinitis. The MRI showed nothing to be concerned about! Waiting on spinal tap results to know what caused it. They’ll be keeping her a few more days to see if she responds well but they see improvement and are optimistic. Let's hope it was just bacterial or fungal and had nothing to do with the autoimmune system! @Jaime
