       @athairbirb Well, there are a few aspects but its mostly to do with being able to track you better, harvest your info, and also keep you in the product longer.

       @athairbirb In terms of TRACKING you might have (and I do have) ad and tracking protection on my browser.This means their tools for seeing where you are on the site, and what you are doing won't work. Also means they can't serve you ads (and therefore lose out on money).But if you use the app, tracking protection doesn't work. They can add all the tracking scripts they like and you wont even know about it.

       @athairbirb In terms of HARVESTING INFO, when you install the app, they prompt you for various things.One of them will be access to your Contacts - so they sync them up to LinkedIn and build out your network or the "social graph" of people you know.They can also get more info, like your location and such, if you allow it. Which most people do.

       @athairbirb In terms of KEEPING YOU IN THE PRODUCT LONGER, the app will most likely ask to send you notifications - which again, most people accept.Now they can make sure you keep coming back to the app by prompting you to come back to the app.Where, if you were relying on the website, maybe you wouldn't need to open the site so much.They probably also have stats saying that people who have the app use LinkedIn more often.So its beneficial for them if you get the app.

       @matt that is really comprehensive. It feels so icky knowing that.Another reason to use the browser and uBlock Origin, dislike these tracking practices and whatnot. Shall try and avoid these apps where possible.Many thanks!
