@joeligj12 @blueberry Are you trying to access it outside if your location, or just inside?

@redeagle @blueberry Yes, its a school project, 3 raspberry pis from different students have to manage the same database.I would love to use a VPS for this, but the teacher wants us to make one of the pi's the server

@redeagle I guess the easiest solution would be to just get the team into a single router and do what we can. But well

@joeligj12 @redeagle I don’t think there’s any way to have a web server without port forwarding. You could still have mariadb and stuff, perhaps with Tailscale instead? Tho I don’t have any experience with ithttps://tailscale.com/

@joeligj12 @blueberry @redeagle It would be typical for a webserver and database server to be network local to eachother. Are they able to communicate among themselves in some other way currently?

@joeligj12 connecting the rpis to the tor network and running the web server as a hidden service would do the trick. It will be only reachable from the tor network (or using clearnet to onion proxies) but it's the easiest way I can think of.

@bloodyshell that sounds pretty fun. But from all the classmates I am the only one versed in linux stuff.I think we will just meet and do it on a single network

@joeligj12 @redeagle @blueberry if you just want to get the raspberries to communicate with each other, you can probably use zerotier.https://www.zerotier.com/

@joeligj12You could check if your router supports an exposed host or so called demilitarised zone (DMZ). If so, the exposed host or all devices in DMZ are fully exposed to the internet, hence no port forwarding.
