       Update on the flood: I managed to get maybe 10% of my books out of the basement more or less intact, although drenched and filthy. I’ve been drying them out in the back yard, and I have to pull them in every time rain is threatening. 10 or so books so far have dried out completely, and they aren’t pretty, but they’re readable. I’m hoping a few more will be. But it’s a race between drying and mold. None of the valuable books survived. Most of the sentimental ones didn’t either.
