Wondering why the pro-life crowd almost never raise awareness or funds for contraceptive education? What about education on the ins and outs of adoption and fostering? This is more about purity and faux morality, and less about the sanctity of life.

@valerian The male sex is driven to control the female sex, so allowing the female sex to avoid pregnancy through any method, not just abortion, would go against their drive. Whether it’s conscious, unconscious, or draped in religion, the drive to control and use female body for males’ own purposes will be there if you look. Why do men become filled with rage and stalk women when they get rejected? Why, when men get angry, do they seek to harm women, especially sexually instead of avoiding them? It is less about religion and more this drive to control. Men struggle to fight this drive and blame the women for she must have caused it. Yes it must be her fault for causing this feeling in him, if she wasn’t existing as an individual person there wouldn’t be a problem. 😱 😱 You are right, if it was about preventing abortions, things would be looking different wouldn’t they?

@valerian There was an article written by a woman years ago, where she explained that she used to be active in pro-life circles, but was mystified why she got no support when she wanted to work towards reducing unwanted pregnancies. Definitely worth a read.Sadly, I can’t find it. Maybe someone else on Spinster knows the article and has a link… you never know.

@valerian I know a lot of pro-life people that built a center for mothers and their babies where they can stay up to two years while permanent housing is found and has services and case managers etc. I also know families that take pregnant teens and young adults into their homes.I think it would be up to schools when it comes to the curriculum. I personally think education on women's biology is pathetic. I had absolutely no idea about breast feeding or what the breast does in sych with the brain to produce milk. I didn't even realise it was a living substance. I was very street wise and tough but massively ignorant at the same time. When I was having my first child I still didn't understand what the cervix was. But that wasn't because it was hidden from me, it just wasn't taught and my mom died when I was young so I was surrounded by men. There is so much also about relationships that could be covered.I don't personally know people who are obsessed with "purity and faux morality" although I know a lot of pro-life people. Many are women who had abortions or struggled themselves as first time mothers and want to support other women. Guys too. I know some guys who bought the stuff for a young mom's apartment and set up her kids beds etc.My hairdresser also had a baby as a teen and had an open adoption. She likes to talk about her daughter and has photos of her on her station.People come to all different kinds of solutions.I have also known women whose partners (even husbands) pressured them to have an abortion.
