       The most significant meta-development from the Taliban recovery of Afghanistan is that Western liberalism can no longer lay claim to an invincible and inevitable End of History. Any claims of this kind are absurd now. The failure of US intervention in the Middle East, the failure of the Arab Spring, the rise of illiberal China and Russia, the blatant decline of America, the discarding of any pretense of liberal democracy, and the assertion of populism domestically - all proof that liberalism is neither the end goal of humanity nor even fit for producing national power. I think historians will look back at Kabul twenty years from now as the final “end” of the worldwide liberal hegemony. The Taliban showed it’s politically possible to reject Jewish liberalism (and to do so quite easily); liberalism has no legs to stand on anymore, it’s totally illegitimate.

       @Celestinas_side_dick There’s still inertia in the System and us in the West are still gonna face the brunt of it. My point is moreso that I can’t see liberalism being exported as an ideology anymore. Most “liberalized” countries are backsliding (i.e. Brazil) and lots of marketized countries often see a massive nationalist/populist backlash. On top of that, I think nobody is asking anymore “which countries can we liberalize next?” Now the question is, “which flavor of illiberalism will overtake senile and decrepit liberalism?” That’s huge in breaking this meta-narrative of invincibility.

       @vonjagerbomber @heidegger14 I'm kind of of the view that it will gradually lose what sense of legitimacy it has left. It'll decline more than it does just collapse all of a sudden. This guy I know who got the first two vaccines decided to not get the third. How many who get the third won't get the fourth? And so on.There's a tapering off effect imo

       @heidegger14 Fukuyama is a faggot and the "End of History" as a concept is stupid because it assumes perfection can be achieved. Even if perfection was achievable, the nature of perfection is to be dynamic meaning that once you achieve perfection, what perfection means has already changed.
