medieval christianity had some good ideas about finance but it didn't go anywhere near far enough. any form of trade more complex than barter are the moral equivalent of banking imo

@Moon i just don't think it should be possible to make a profit without engaging in productive laborlow-interest loans are *almost* defensible but i'd rather eliminate the need for them entirely than give random rich people the authority to decide who can and can't start a business

@velartrill charge modest fees for holding money. loans permissible but fee is paid attached to the profit of the venture. there's some argument that it's just interest under a different name but I think it can be done right.

If you need four people to lay out the consequences of a transaction (and I'm not talking systemic perspectives of consequence), then there's a good chance it shouldn't exist. I don't want to be governed by some gamblers.
