@Shifomu I’ve been hearing people bitch about purity spiraling since 2015 and I still haven’t been given a good answer as to what it actually IS. Best I can tell it’s not compromising on your beliefs and how that’s a bad thing I’ll never know.

@Reachrunner1 @Shifomu the problem is, much like the left and “muh nazi” nobody actually attaches the label to something that meets the definition. It’s primarily the mainstream rights way to say “you don’t like me because I smoke weed” or similar instead of what it actually is: an in-group excluding more and more people for not being “in” enough.

@sapphire @Shifomu That makes a lot of sense, I’ve seen people scream purity spiral simply because people didn’t like the idea of allowing “based” minorities into a movement about keeping America white. The original definition does still happen, although nowhere near as often as people use the term.

Then again maybe I just have a very narrow experience with it, cuz I don't view mainstream conservatives as right-wing at all so maybe I'm purity spiraling anyway lol. I think the key is the "spiraling" part, in which you don't know when to stop.
