       i think rockbox is one if the coolest pieces of software out there, but they're stuck on GCC 4 and an ever-aging build system because nobody has the time to upgrade it and make sure it still works on all the supported devices.

       @calebccff Rockbox is an amazing piece of software. I refuse to get an mp3 player if it isn't compatible with rockbox

       @kop316I've got a very old iPod (one of those with the small HDD!) that I never found the time to install Rockbox on. Now I've got a smartphone with a 128GB SD card for that...@calebccff

       @kop316You mean open it and replace the 2-inch *hard disk drive* with an SD card? As I said, I've got a really old iPod, one of the last with an HDD. I believe it has a 32GB capacity.@calebccff
