       #Google automatically created a #flipboard account for me after I visited their site to see if I had one already.I deleted the account in the site's settings.I have gotten like 4 daily newsletters since then.Clicking "Unsubscribe" throws an error.I sent an email directly to them, they replied.But why did this even happen?

       @dredmorbius worst thing is that flipboard is not google's property.Flipboard, Reddit and other websites offer the possibility to login with google *automatically* without you even clicking "sign in with google"Some, like reddit, have the decency of creating a random username (with possibility of changing it)But others just take ur account's name straight up.

       @joeligj12  unsubscribing from certain company's marketing has become much harder these days. I've had to call support to cancel marketing notifications from newegg 🤬Im actually planning a future video about that

       @joeligj12 Haven't run into that Google issue, but I have seen that multiple services, and offline ones too, don't unsubscribe the customer from marketing emails when the account is closed. Two of my banks continue to send me marketing emails while I have closed accounts many years ago.
