       @shinji but those are old friends. dad however, has people he says in touch with, but he’d never ask them for favours. they’re people he sees when he, now retired, spends idle time down town.

       @shinji and he seems to know who these people are, and have probably politely nodded at them for years but they never visited each others’ houses. they’ve just talked a little here and there.

       @shinji whereas a friend is more of a person you can confide in. but i’m not sure people have proper friends after 30 or so. they have partners or spouses for that kind of thing.

       @thor I feel like old friends eventually get relegated to acquaintances. Especially when your lives really diverge and there isn’t much left but memories.

       @shinji it’s mainly because we live far apart. i suspect we’d still hang out a fair bit if that wasn’t the case.
