@pasture @mushroom_soup if you have ever seen one of those gumball machines where you put a quarter in and get s random capsule of cheap gimmicky stuff, that’s a gacha.Or trading card games where you have to buy packs of random cards.Or people buying mystery boxes.It’s basically you pay money for a random item out of a selection and then you’re expected to buy more when it’s not the one you wanted.Second Life banned the practice recently lol

The dopamine rush of winning your pull is IMMENSEThen there's a sub group of gacha enjoyers that grind like mad and spend no money but still get what they want (a good gacha let's you earn slot rolls by playing). Ever played Xenoblade Chronicles 2? That's a 10/10 JRPG but the mechanics for getting new blades is a gacha roll. However you literally cannot pay to get more rolls (unless you count the handouts that come with buying the dlc but that is a finite supply and really not the same thing)Its your right to dislike the practice but it works so devs will keep doing it.@Gampboonerisms @leyonhjelm @mushroom_soup @podcast
