@StevenDouglas I hear you but that doesn't help me, the one who wants to know why I should vote for him. I really want someone who can give me good solutions and are prepared to act on them. IMO Kevin has his priorities in order and is ready to use his time until 22.

@StevenDouglas he can try every angle he wants but if he's not willing to debate (even dem tool Kevin Paffrath showed up tonight) then he's not worth it on that alone. His absence to debates is being seen by all the voters of CA and the optics are not good.

He didn't disavow Trump but his claim of Romney support won't help with a lot of conservatives. He said that he only wants to debate Newsom. I see a man doing whatever it takes to win. And there could be an element of seeing himself able to work freely (Reaganesque?) across the aisle, since liberal majorities would be all he had to work with.That doesn't mean that he's the best candidate, but getting both sides to close eyes and pull the lever seems shrewd in a state like California.

@Lisa22 Plus, California voters are nearly 2:1 Democrat.Only two questions on the ballot: should Nuisance be recalled? and Who should replace it?Like LBJ, who couldn't get the Civil Rights Act passed without substantial Republican support, no Republican on the CA ticket gets by without Democrat votes. The last thing any GOP candidate wants to hear from the left is, "Shots fired!"

@StevenDouglas No worries, the recall will get plenty of Democrat votes -- millions of freelancers who are mostly Democrats were affected by the job-killing bill AB5, which was enacted in early 2020. People lost their wages and some even went bankrupt. I'm in a Facebook group with thousands of them and they are pretty leftist but are voting to recall Newsom. He signed the bill, and a new governor could suspend it.

@StevenDouglas @Lisa22Win, lose or draw. The recall is worth it. The amount of distress this is producing in CA political circles is productive. CA is a Democrat hegemony. Anything that upsets that paradigm is a net positive.
