@Debradelai @EarlThePearls New neighbor across the street cut down a beautiful, healthy oak tree taller than the 3-story townhouse because they wanted a manicured front lawn. We did have our tree that is the same age because the side towards the house needed to be trimmed according to regulations. However, the guy in the lift was a little too ... enthusiastic and took off 2 more branches than needed before we finally stopped him.

@Debradelai That looks like an infestation of Japanese Pine Beetles is causing the problem. It generally starts with a damaged tree, but they go on to the healthy ones.

@Debradelai Told my husband our back neighbors tree was diseased and they needed to take it down. While sitting outside I heard a crack and then saw the tree split and fall. Afterwards, while they were cleaning up the mess the tree looked like it was giving us the finger. Haha.

@Debradelai Agree! When we bought our house in 2015 in SW FL we had 14 Trees. We took down 7 because they were close to the house and we didnβt get any sun. And thank goodness we didβ¦.because Irma took down the rest except for a small one. We were sooooo lucky. The largest tree just barely missed our lanai (bird cage). None fell onto the house or neighbors car that he had parked on the side of his house. Here are some pictures. It took us 3 weeks to clean it up.

@Debradelai @BeefSquatch122 Picking the right tree to begin with helps a lot in that respect.I worked in the Original World Headquarters of Firestone in the Engineering DepartmentThe had drawings for everything going back to the beginning in the teens. Beautiful works of art they were.Among them were plans for the houses and gardens of the Firestone Family. All the trees, shrubbery, flowers carefully laid out to make a beautiful estate
