       Meanwhile Twitter's Bluesky is still obsessed with impractical P2P protocols and end-to-end encryption. It's as if they're trying to reinvent the wheel, but the result turns out square, and they assume it'd somehow be better. Imagine them spending all this time implementing #ActivityPub into Twitter instead.@activitypub

       @grishka @activitypub@gup.pe Twitter doesnt have any incentive to develop a truly decentralized platform. I think they are simply developing something that will obfuscate the fact that they are collecting user data.

       @shitpisscum I mean look at the gif on their website: https://peergos.org/posts/decentralized-social-mediaIt takes solid 3 seconds to render the news feed. THREE. SECONDS.(for comparison: Smithereen renders the news feed in around 100 ms and I consider that to be on the slower side)
