@galeot @tofeo That was the factor that initiated the whole thing, true.We also had complaints in the back of our heads such as lack of community engagement, horrendous governance, the concept of software that's being used anywhere and for anything (in schools in Britain and Romania all the way up to research and binary analysis), Those are things we are trying to do better on.

@galeot @tofeo You should also take a look at why no Linux distribution shipped the later versions of Audacity and are stuck around ~2.7.Their more recent releases do things, such as depend on the Conan dependency manager (not that many people package it) or that their stable versions depended on an unstable version of wxWidgets. We're working on the latter, we've fixed the former.

@tofeo We're heavily reliant on feedback. If there's something in Audacity that you're missing, tell us and we'll most likely take a look at whether we can implement that one way or another.

@tenacityI've always loved the functionality of #Audacity, but found the look of the interface the most horrifically ugly and outdated thing I'd ever seen. There are friends that I didn't suggest audacity to, purely because I knew that when they looked at it, they would feel like it was some broken, cheap knockoff.I don't know if WxWidgets has the technical capability to look decent with a designers love, but if you could use some design help (mockups etc), hit me up!@tofeo
