@SouvlakiSmuggler @Shadowman311 @Vasta218 Unless we can remove and replace the people who run the school boards and teach the kids, the policy pushbacks will only last as long as people are willing to constantly take time out to educate themselves and fight for it. Which given the attention span and spine of the typical American household is a Sisyphean task at absolute fucking best, and a joke and a half at worst. It's much easier to convince people to homeschool.

You can find a bunch of videos of it happening searching "parent confronts school board" and such. Right now there's a whole genre of videos, "black parent rips apart school board over CRT".But outside of a few very red areas, it doesn't help. Schools get compromised not just by policies, but by the teachers they hire, the textbooks they use, and the regulations/guidelines they follow.My point is that parents have been fighting this garbage, for decades, they way they were supposed to. They already lost the battle. We are not dealing with a cultural war right now, we're dealing with the aftermath of one.
