@urusanMine is taken from real life. Three giants are trying to trap and catch me. They always succeed. I normally woke up screaming when they do. This nightmare was me reliving the day I was kidnapped when I was 4 and a half years old. It has led me to suppress my dreams to this day.

@urusan I can't pinpoint one in particular, but most of mine are either getting chased down by something or just exploring some incomprehensible Lovecraftian dreamscape. Sometimes both.

@urusan I was a kid.I had persistent dreams for weeks about smoky skies, seeing red lights scattered off on the mountains, and things always smelled weird (I know now that as smoke) and it was hard to see. My parents were always really stressed in those dreams and there were usually emergency tones on the radio.I never knew what they meant. I dismissed them. I was a kid.*looks at weather for western US anytime in the last few months*…. Huh. Fitting.

@urusan I don't know if it counts as a /nightmare/ exactly but it did follow me into the real world.Dreaming of trying to hold off the fairy queen, who was sparkling with green brilliance, with an iron wand while trying to rally the plants to my side by telling them about seasons beyond springtime if time were allowed to roll forward. Eventually the plants took my side, but the Queen threatened to find me where I would least expect it and...I woke up and the room was /filled/ with green light.(It turned out to have a lamp with a green bulb in it that had somehow got turned on while I was asleep.)

@urusan As to nightmare nightmares that DIDN'T follow me into the real world, the best one I had in recent memory involved being trapped on a spaceship and some /thing/ was possessing people and making them murder and cannibalize whoever was with them, and we were trying to figure out what was going on and what to do about it.And I was in an elevator, and the person I was with started smiling, slurring their words, giggling and almost drunkenly saying "Iiii''mm goooing to eeeeat yooou..." and jumped toward me clawing at me and trying to bite me.
