I have finally switched to my #pinephone full time. The modem works. Wifi works. #XMPP with encryption works with Chatty. #email finally works. The only thing I'm missing is a bit of stability. I'm on #Phosh now with #Mobian. I sort of want to go back to #Plasma, but Phosh is more stable at this point I think.Pinephone for the win. It is actually working great.oh and btw, this toot is coming to you from Tootle on my Pinephone.

@silkevicious Not quite. I usually have to charge it in late afternoon. I expect it to get better as updates come through. Then again, if that keyboard and battery expansion ever gets released, then it won't be a problem anyway.

@lorabe I hope so. I have been watching the performance monitor. I am not so sure it is the RAM. It seems that the processor maxes out. So I think the OS needs to be a little more efficient for the experience to really smooth out.

@herag well since GTK3 does not support hardware acceleration, it's the CPU that handles the UI, which tends to be a problem on small CPUs like... a pinephone.But GTK4 finally comes with hardware acceleration, i suspect that in the future apps will use less CPU resources because of that.

@herag i prefer @dino with his feature/handy branch as an #xmpp client on #pinephone - it is possible to make Audio calls (no Video, because of the strange not V4L2 Camera on the pinephone)

@genofire @dino i also think Dino is much prettier, but getting to to exchange keys with others is sort of a nightmare. I tried for about a week or two, then just gave up.

@0 oh yeah. and texts abd all the ohone stuff you would expect. at the moment you have to use a work around for MMS messages, but that should get fixed in the nearish future.
