@Yemaya Depends. AI are under the researchers who feed them data sets and tweak the findings. A lot of TiMs used to get mad that they were clocked as men so I suspect the AI was tweaked to recognize other markers of "woman" besides facial features like hair length, makeup, clothes, accessories, etc. I don't think these facial recognition tools are just the face anymoreTiFs are a relatively new social mess and it's harder to "perform masculinity" through photos.
