In high school, we had to build a cardboard boat and sail in it. 3 team members in the boat, and they graded us on how far we went before sinking. Imagine if Gab and Pleroma competed in this same competition. Pleroma’s boat is a product of German engineering, aerodynamic and cut perfectly, sails perfectly but no amenities. Gab’s boat is all amenities. It’s a floating cardboard armchair with a built in beer holder, shoddily assembled and it sinks in 4 seconds.

@SteveJail Gab’s code to this day continues to make me suffer. Pleroma by comparison is a joy. It wasn’t created by porn and there’s nothing about it in the code. Just beautiful code from ascended beings.

@alex @SteveJail I very much like pleroma, and it's probably my favorite interface because it's so friendly to multi-tasking. I must admit, however, it is an eyesore and I have trouble convincing people to use it because it looks so cluttered. You get used to it, but that first impression is important.

@alex of course, I'm running both since some years ago. Mastodon never ever sink (around 2,500 people aboard), Pleroma failed several times, mainly during upgrade because some Erlang issue or whatever.

@alex by the way, this morning updated this instance to 2.4.0 but it still have the bug: I can't see your image details because when I zoom into it the image disappears. Same bug detected on 2.3.0.This happens from mobile device.
