@Dawnz These bitter, angry, shallow tantrums on conservative sites only contribute to division in the GOP and provide only a very small part of the story.There is no reference in this article to why McConnell is supporting this. If the GOP blocked this Infrastructure Bill, all of the budget related items in it - most of it - would be stuffed into the Reconciliation Bill. 1/2

@Dawnz The pressure is off for now, and those two - and other Dems - have more freedom to focus on their opposition to the Reconciliation Bill - Bill #2.They may still pass something in Bill #2, but the GOP did have a say on these issues.3/4

@Dawnz Meanwhile, Bill #1 is only set to pass the Senate. From there it will go the House - where Pelosi claims that she will not bring it to a vote unless Bill #2 is also passed in the Senate first.And the Dems are fighting hard among themselves as to what they will support.It is a huge mess for them.The usual, lazy term RINO is used. It would be better not to pass anything, of course - but this a way of dealing with the Dems that should avoid much worse legislation later.4/5

@Dawnz The conservative media rarely acknowledges the triumphs - not too strong a word - of McConnell and the GOP Senators in standing firm and united against the steady parade of disastrous Bills from the House that are all DOA.I would very, very much like to see conservative media stop the relentless ridicule and criticism of Republicans. @Lisa22 @timr @Dawnz I think you have spin this way backwards. The KEY argument is how much garbage stuff the Rs were able to keep out of this bill. A key element was massively increasing IRS intrusion and reporting to get more taxes. Does anyone not believe that increased IRS audit “revenue” won’t just go into bill#2 to “offset” its $Trillion$? Same with the rest of it. The Rs have just spun themselves into greasing the skids for bill #2.

OnlyProcedural votes, resolutions, etc. are defined by name.I have been doing this for three months to bring some precision and order to threads that involve a great deal of complex information.I ask those who comment to please respect the use of those terms - which are accurate.
