Hmm one thing that Pleroma does have over misskey is registrations with manual admin approval.

So far my Pleroma vs. Misskey comparison:Pleroma pros:- Flexible with front ends- Tons of admin options- Advanced moderation tools like MRF and account approvals- Doesn't require ElasticSearch for full text searching- Pretty lightweight on the server- Basically every limit can be changed (upload, post size)Pleroma cons:- Development is pretty slow in recent months- Dev team has some controversial members- Uses elixir which while an interesting language, is not really well known- Default frontend is pretty rough on the edges (memory bloat, t.map is undefined, etc.)- DB takes up a lot of space (doubly so if you use RUM indices)- Search is broken unless you use RUM- Good support for arm platforms like the raspberry PiMisskey pros:- UI is pretty and mostly polished- Antennas for being able to do advanced post curation- Ability to make static pages- Announcements- Without ElasticSearch, it's pretty lightweightMisskey cons:- Searching posts requires ElasticSearch which is quite bloated- Compiling assets requires 2 GB of RAM or adding in swap- setup on ARM isn't straightforward (but it is possible and works once it's done)

@welt that could be the nginx configuration getting in the way, I've raised my file limit from 15 to 30 MB here fine. I just had to increase the max body length.

@welt did you restart nginx after the config change? Make sure there's not another max body length setting in the pleroma.nginx file or in nginx.conf.

@norm next misskey thing I am not sure about whether pro or con: SO many features that you'd like to read a frontend usage documentation. Is there any? I've already read everything from the "help" part of the frontend, that did not explain to me what exactly antennas are and how they function. And there are so many more things like pages?? Gallery??? etc.

@fluff Antennas: basically like lists, but with advanced filter rules. Haven't sued them yet personally but that's how I understand them.Pages: They're like pages on a blog site. They don't appear on your timeline. Useful for things like Terms of Service and whatnot.Gallery: No clue tbh

@norm@biribiri.dev @fluff@tiny-pillowfort.floating-in.space antennas allow you to funnel posts into seperat timelines with filters. its pretty damn useful.havent tried pages yet. they do appear on your profile at least.havent tried gallery yet either
