@fluff @gaige @Craftplacer because most people who get pink keyboards wouldn’t be caught dead with a standard ISO/ANSI layout

@fluff @Craftplacer not big enough market for it i guess, especially if you insist on qwertz too. easiest would be to order a custom one, but that is also an extra cost to swallow...

@mia @gaige @Craftplacer I don't want to have to get used to a new layout... also, pink ANSI keyboards ARE available! But I am really used to the ISO layout..................... and those are non existing :blobcatverysad:

@fluff @gaige @Craftplacer getting used to a new layout isn’t that bad honestly, especially if the differences are as small as ANSI/ISO„wer pink sein will, muss leiden“ :blobcatwinktongue:

@fluff @mia @gaige @Craftplacer I've used ISO all my life, then switched to ANSI, and it wasn't too hard.Actually I switched from French ISO 105-key layout to Qwerty ANSI tenkeyless, so a lot of small changes at once, it only took a few weeks to fully adapt

@NekoSock @gaige @Craftplacer @fluff switching from the horizontally staggered typewriter layout to split ortholinear was much harder. took several weeks of torturing myself during which i could type on neither layout because my muscle memory was all messed upabsolutely worth it though, especially once i went from ergodox to gergoplexi’m only very slightly faster now but a million times more comfy

@NekoSock @gaige @Craftplacer @fluff highly recommend it even if you stick to qwerty. i transcribe spoken language sometimes and that can be so much typing that it’s too painful to finish in one sitting on a regular keyboard. even on the ergodox that was really hard (i blame overly stiff cherry mx blues) but with the gergoplex it’s no problem at alli still want to learn steno… which will be a lot easier with this keyboard; i already use combos and chording a lot because the 36-key layout forces me to

@NekoSock @Craftplacer @fluff @gaige also less is more when it comes to keyboards. you want to minimize wrist movement and finger stretching, and having fewer keys means fewer ways you can hurt yourself. gotta hit that personal sweet spot between ergonomic, usable and understandable.

@Craftplacer not my laptop keyboard. can't play stepmania songs with hands or quads with it, since it only processes "k" and "l" when I press "a" "s" "k" "l"
