@miria @Chizu Yeah, Arch is great for perfecting what you want, and it's not necessarily *hard*, just takes a loooot of tweaking to get "just right".

@blogorg @Chizu Well, depends on what you want. And you don't even need Arch for that, you could just as easily use a Debian minimal install.

@miria @Chizu Could also split your laptop drive into partitions and put both arch and debian-based on there, though I think that would just kinda be a waste of space.

@Chizu @miria In that case then, I'd say pick something you'll actually use and enjoy. You can always experiment later, but pick something you know you'll like. Imo, I think popOS is one of the best out of the gate, especially if you use your laptop for gaming.

@Chizu @miria I mean, since it's a laptop, I assume storage is the only thing pcie4 will be put towards.

@Chizu @miria it doesn't have a dedicated GPU, which is why it's using Intel for now. They plan on having options for a you in the future, and the system is using thunderbolt 4, so pretty sure they're just putting the pcie4 towards storage.

@Chizu @miria Hmm. In that case, I'd do a little research, and definitely stick to Debian since it has the easiest learning curve. Mint, Ubuntu, popOS, elementaryOS, they're all good and not that different from one another since they're Debian based at the end of the day (popOS being Ubuntu based).

@KayFaraday @Co @Chizu It literally doesn't have thumbnails lmao. You have to select each file one by one to see a preview on the right. I mean you can see thumbnails for all the files at the same time. Mac has had this since like 2001.

@KayFaraday @Co @Chizu They are too small to be visible. If you open a folder with many files, you can't use the thumbnails to identify them. Don't be disingenuous.
